A Monumental Milestone

Whitney (11:33pm PST, Friday, 2/25/22)

Prone, intubated, feeding tube, arterial line, central line, catheter, and eyes sewn shut. This is how Pepper will be for 4-5 days. My mommy heart could barely take it. She’s in really good hands. They were able to graft her entire back and both hands. She will have bedside dressing changes everyday. Grateful for all the medical staff that attended her today. They stood over her body for 5 long hours in the operating room. Prayers for Pepper! And for mom & dad. This is hard.
